What Bizee Costs After the Bundle, Set Against a Flat $99

Iowa registered agent service at a flat $99 per year. Physical address, scanned legal mail, compliance alerts. Renewals stay the same price.

Iowa cityscape

Stated plainly: this is a vendor's page. Iowa Registered Agent.co competes with Bizee and profits if you switch. The prices are Bizee's own, published on their site, verified in July 2026.

The Bundle Is Worth Taking

Form an LLC through Bizee and the agent role rides along free. The bundled stretch runs anywhere from three months to a full year, set by which package you buy. It is not a trick. There is no setup fee underneath it and nothing that reclaims the value if you leave afterward. A new Iowa company gets a mandatory service for free during the months it can least afford one. Take the offer.

$149 Once the Window Closes

Standalone, Bizee's agent service is $149 a year, charged from the day the bundled period ends. The figure is published and easy to find. The difficulty is not disclosure, it is timing: the decision gets made on day one, when the number is zero, and the number that actually governs the next decade only appears months later.

One correction before anyone reads too much into $99: BetterLegal advertises $90. That makes our rate one of the least expensive published in Iowa rather than the least expensive, and we would rather say so than let the ambiguity work in our favor.

Changing Agents in Iowa: Form, Fee, Sequence

Iowa's paperwork here is a single combined statement, catalogued as form 635_0119, which records a new registered agent, a new registered office, or both in one submission. The recipient is the Business Services Division inside the Iowa Secretary of State's office. You can mail the paper version or push it through the Fast Track Filing portal. Neither route charges a limited liability company anything; partnerships filing the same document pay $5.

Two rules govern how the form is completed. First, the registered office street address and the incoming agent's business office street address have to be identical, because in Iowa the registered office is the agent's own place of business rather than an address you nominate separately. Second, signing the designation affirms that the new agent has consented to act. Both rules point at the same practical instruction: hire the replacement before you touch the form. The filing names a successor rather than removing an incumbent, so your entity is represented continuously and never appears in the state's file with an empty agent line. Once the record updates, close the Bizee subscription.

Why the Free Filing Matters More in Iowa Than Elsewhere

Iowa companies hear from the state rarely. LLCs file a biennial report, not an annual one, due April 1 in odd-numbered years with the window opening on January 1, at $30 online or $45 on paper under Iowa Code § 489.212. The next window for everyone runs January to April 2027.

That two-year silence is the thing to plan around. Most owners only think about who their registered agent is when the state prompts them, and in Iowa the state prompts them every other year at best. If the only moment you review the arrangement is the moment a form lands, a $149 charge can run three times before it ever gets examined.

The free change filing is the antidote. Because Iowa attaches no fee and no waiting period to the swap, the review does not have to wait for the calendar. Any Tuesday works. The end of your bundled months is not a deadline to beat, just the date a price starts, and you can act before it, after it, or in the middle of an odd-year window at exactly the same cost: nothing. Our Iowa change of agent page covers the mechanics, and the biennial report guide covers the deadline itself.
